The ocean has always been a source of deep wonder and inspiration for me—the way it whispers secrets and holds mysteries in its depths. And for some reason I’ve always been particularly drawn to the sea urchin, a creature that’s both delicate and resilient, much like us.
The sea urchin, with its spiny exterior, teaches us about protection and boundaries. It’s a gentle reminder that it’s okay to shield ourselves when needed, but also to remain open to the world around us. Its ability to regenerate lost spines symbolizes our own capacity to heal and grow stronger after hardships.
In crafting the Pacifica Sea Urchin Necklace series, I aimed to capture this essence. Each piece is handmade, preserving the intricate textures of a sea urchin shell from the Salish Sea. These are powerful talismans. When worn on your body they can channel the ocean’s magic you can carry with you.
Wearing them feels like a gentle nudge from the universe, encouraging you onwards with courage and grace. It’s a clarion call for balance, reminding us to protect our hearts while staying open to newness.
I hope these urchins bring you the same sense of connection and inspiration they bring me. And that we continue to find strength in our vulnerabilities and beauty in our journeys.
